My First Apple Pie

My first attempt at apple pie. 
Prepared apples by removing cores, slicing and cooking in water until tender. 
Removed the water, and stirred in about 1/3 cup brown sugar, some cinnamon, ginger and lemon rind.
I then buttered my baking dish and placed my pastry on the bottom and sides, more butter on the pastry, then added my apple mix. Covered the top with a pastry lid - buttering both sides. Baked for 40 minutes. Coffee to go with it 👌
